John Studer began work with No Sweat in the fall of 2003, right out of business school.
He currently heads up the wholesale department, and is developing and implementing
a host of new growth projects.
After growing up in Rhode Island, John attended Florida State University,
where he pursued studies in history and economic philosophy. His focus
was on civil rights and the development of economic systems throughout history.
Upon graduating in 2000, he took part in the Corporation for National Service, AmeriCorps VISTA program.
As a VISTA Volunteer, John worked in development for the Massachusetts
Housing and Shelter Alliance, a Boston based non-profit policy group dedicated
to the abolition of homelessness. When his year of service was complete, he continued
policy and advocacy work as an events coordinator, until deciding to go to business school in 2002.
Upon receipt of his MBA from the University of Rhode Island in 2003,
John possessed a newfound interest in using business strategies to solve
social and ethical problems. This interest quickly led him to No Sweat Apparel.
In his spare time, John stays involved in various musical projects.
As a self-taught drummer and guitar player, he finds music and the arts
an essential medium for communication and education.
