8 ways to spread the word.

First we need to thank all of you who’ve already done these things and more...free product placement on Canadian sit-coms, Yo-Yo commercials & MTV! Plugs by bands at shows and on CD covers! Comic books! And for the girl who tattooed No Sweat on the back of her neck, our special thanks. We are filled with a sense of gratitude and responsibility.

We grew 750% last year with no advertising. All because our customers told their friends and family about this serious alternative to sweatshops. If we do that again this year we’ll be strong enough to start fighting the big brands on their own turf. Here’s seven easy ways to spread the word. Please pick a couple that suit you. And if you have some fresh ideas we haven’t thought of,

 

  1. E-mail.
    The single most effective way to spread the word is via email. Forwarding info about us to folks who care works wonders.

    You can use our Refer-A-Friend feature right now to send a heads-up about No Sweat to your friends, you can also send a link to a specific product from any of No Sweat's product pages:

           

    In addition many people have started to include a one line plug in their everyday emails with our URL in their signature, like this:

    For maximum impact, use a different font and color from the main text. There are more tag lines here. Feel free to get loose and create your own ad campaign. But no spamming, please! Totally counter productive.

  2. Become an Affiliate.
    Got a blog or website? Then join our Participant Program!  Once you're an affiliate, you or your organization can get a 7% cut of the sales that you generate just by placing a linked web banner on your site.  You don't even have to have a site and can generate sales by letting your friends and colleagues know about us via email links.     Know an organization of any kind that should sign up?  Send them a No Sweat E-Card asking them to check us out!  Any questions about how our affiliate program works?

  3. Give Gift Certificates in No Sweat E-cards.
    Send a holiday or birthday card straight from No Sweat. A great way to show someone you really care (and send the web's most thoughtful gift in mere minutes!).

  4. Bulk Order for your Local Org or Business.
     No Sweat Wholesale has got you covered. Screen printing and embroidery is also available. Know a college club, religious group, non-profit, labor local, day care, camp, school or any other organization that needs Tees, caps, sweats, etc? Give them the No Sweat option. You’d be surprised how few know the choice even exists. And how grateful most organizations are to have it. For more info

  5. Posters and Stickers.
    Download and post a No Sweat Poster at your local co-op, community bulletin board, coffee house, etc. where ever folks who care are likely to see it. Our stickers are also pretty nice. These should go on lunchboxes, lockers, bumpers, guitar cases, drum kits, etc. Not, of course, in public places where massive numbers of people are likely to see them. Such places would be turnstile booths, train & subway stations, hand dryer or towel dispensers in very busy public bathrooms or private restrooms in hot nightclubs or movie theaters. You get the picture. Don’t go there to put up our fabulous stickers where millions of people will see them. And definitely no gorgeous multi-colored No Sweat     graffiti gracing gritty grey urban canvases all over the world. None of those!

  6. Throw a fashion show!
    At your school, camp, fair trade fair, etc. One great way students can help get the word out is to walk our stuff down the runway themselves. We’ll help you get started w/ our easy DIY Fashion show instruction kit. For more info, click here!
     
  7. In a Band?  Join our Band / Artist Sponsorship Program!

  8. Local Retailer?
    If there is an indie retailer in your town you think might be ready to carry the No Sweat line, let us know. We can help them stand up against the Wal-Mart of the world. To suggest a local retailer or to become a retailer yourself
